Can you imagine enjoying a fresh-baked apple cobbler while backpacking? Backpacker’s Pantry Hot Apple Cobbler is easy to prepare, and it is so convenient, and delicious! A must-try on your next adventure.
This meal requires a bit more effort than most of our instant meals. First, you will need a medium-sized pan with a lid to prepare this dish, and a stove or camp stove.
Simply add one cup water to the freeze-dried apples and sauce mix and sauté over medium in a medium skillet, until the mix comes to a boil. Then reduce the heat and let simmer for five minutes. Meanwhile, mix the cobbler mix with three tablespoons of water.
When the sauce has thickened, spoon the cobbler mix over the top of the apples, then cover and cook for a minute or two on low heat. Voila! Turn off heat, remove the cover, and wait a couple of minutes for it to cool before eating, to avoid scorching your tongue. You now have a hot, fresh-baked Hot Apple Cobbler to enjoy.
