Honeywell's Spectra Shield fiber is a composite material (specifically, an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber) used in bulletproof vests and vehicle armour. Spectra fibers are super low stretch, lightweight enough to float, and have the most effective fatigue lifetime of any other fiber.

Spectra Fiber is 10 times stronger than steel on an equal weight basis and provides excellent protection from cut, slash, and abrasion hazards. With up to 60 percent greater strength than alternate aramid fibers, these gloves are designed to keep your hands safe.
